the beehive state.

i found myself in the land of cafe rio, wide streets, blue skies, and friends last weekend. salt lake, welcomed me with a beautiful 80 degree day, and huge hug from my best friend/cousin, kristin.

she showed me the great ways of eating indian food at bombay house, and lovely shops of vintage treasures. we walked down memory lane well into the middle of night with photos and notes we passed each other in middle school and high school. i love you lucy!

next, i met up with ladies:
abby, kera, carla, angela, and shalynna, and me of course. we enjoyed settebello, cafe rio,a woody allen flick (midnight in paris) and shopping. it was mind blowing to meet these women i've conversed with for so many years via the internet. and yes, they are even more beautiful in real life.

annnnnnnd then....
("no and then.")
i met up with these loves of my life

charlotte, teresa, kim, mary, and my momma. (we missed you necia!)

these lady drove hours, just to come and see me. it was so great to catch up with them while relaxing at the pool, more shopping, and eating.

i feel so blessed to have so many beautiful, funny, and generous women in life.

i'm a lucky girl.

  4. i really don't have a connection to utah other than having gone to school there. but sometimes i just miss it so much. it usually coincides with the weather being humid.

also, i enjoy saying "SET-a BELL-o!" in a loud voice with hand motions. at least that's how i said it in my mind when i read it in this post.

  5. there's really nothing else to say but "YAY!" (except not yay for that picture of me but i blame it on the 4 hours of sleep the night before. can we blame it on that?)

  7. @kello- i'm suuuuper awkward/shy when it comes to social stuff lately. this however was neither. it was like hanging out with old friends.

@angela- oh please! if you look pregnant, then i look like a beached whale. :)

@abby- oh please again! you look fabulous, as does the rest of you. four hours additional sleep probably would've helped all of us though.

@rubi- bummer i missed you! i guess i'll just have to come to paris. shoot.

  10. It looks like a fun trip!

I have never actually met "blogging friends" in real life. I would probably be way awkward and everyone would think I was less cool.

  13. I'm especially emotional these days, but your reply in the above comment about the weekend feeling like it was hanging out with old friends makes me want to cry. I'll admit- I almost started crying at one point during one of the late night conversations. You can guess which conversation. :)

We need to email photos to each other (as in you guys need to email photos to me since I didn't take any).

And it looks like you got to see a ton of people during your stay! I'm so glad.

  15. how lovely! salt lake is a wonderful, wonderful place and I've been DYING to go to their vintage stores- they're fantastic. Did you go to Decades vintage or some other vintage store? Whatever it was, I am sure you had a great time accompanied by so many awesome people.
