meet the contenders:
vs
after a short and unfair battle,
the pole won.
here's the short of it:
i woke up on the wrong side of the bed. seriously. i rolled out, and landed on the floor. no biggie right? wrong. said pole is part of a privacy screen by our bed (remember studio apartment?) i bumped the free standing pole (see: not screwed into the ceiling or floor- more tension rod like) and it moved. i got up right when the pole was swinging toward me like an angry bat. it smacked right into my two front teeth and viola.. enter- snaggle toothed kate.
oh,
i cried.
and
i said a few choice words
you see,
pain.
and
humilation.
+
a sunday on a holiday weekend.
=
a horrible. no good. bad day.
here's to staying indoors, and sending graham out for liquids.
2011 you're sucking for the health end of it.
oh, and graham thinks it's HILARIOUS to have me say "she sells seashells by the seashore."
Post Edit:
i'm no longer snaggle tooth. instead i feel like i've got a couple a chiclets in place of teeth (as known as temporary fillings.) with the trauma to the teeth, there's a good chance of a root canal(shudder)and crown. so, for now it's the waiting game for a few weeks to see what happens with the nerves, and then another trip to the dentist.
oy.. what a nightmare.

oh Kate! I can feel your pain. Remember I have crowns on my two front teeth because of a incident in high school. Dang. That really is two bad it happened on Sunday. Hang in there and get them fixed Monday. we want new pictures. Love MOM

ReplyDeleteMy mom had a similar incident when she was growing up, but with a teeter totter. She has a couple of caps(or crowns?) and you can't even tell, and they never hurt.
But seriously, I'm sure that was absolutely traumatizing.

I was really hoping this would be a personal-stripper-pole-routine-in-the-bed-room-gone-wrong-story. Instead it just makes me feel sad for you and think ouch. Sorry this happened.
