we did a quick trip to seattle yesterday. it was sunny with blue skies and beautiful! if i didn't know better, i'd be tempted to pack my bags and move there.(oh you tricky northwest, on a sunny day, you go and convince many that you can do no wrong. see: why we moved to portland.)
we explored some more of the hot spots that we didn't have a chance to see last october.
. we claimed our spot on the gum wall.
. ate some awesome russian pastries and mac & cheese.
. listened to some rockin' street performers.
. found a troll under the bridge.
. drove around some great seattle neighborhoods.
+
. hung out at gasworks park.
i can't wait to go back.

Oh I've always wanted to visit Seattle!! It sounds so exotic compared to the midwest.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting these!!
I'm moving there in a month!
ReplyDeletei waaaant you photos.
ReplyDeletei'm so jealous, i want to go!! i've never been there, so i'll need to convince josh its time to take a vacation! it looks so fun :)
ReplyDeletelove love love these! i want to live inside of them. so great.
ReplyDeletethis looks like so much fun! i loooove these photos--did you use a special camera to take them?
ReplyDeleteWhitney- I wish I could say they came from my holga camera, but film+processing is so expensive these days. The next best thing? The vignette app on my droid.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I only spent a couple of days passing through Seattle on my hiatus to British Columbia, wish I would have hit the hot spots like you did!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
Gum walls are cool but gross at the same time. Kind of like most bugs. And what is that pastry??
ReplyDeleteHaha, the gum wall is kind of gross. I do love a good Seattle trip. I always want to buy tons of fresh flowers at Pike Place, but I have to remind myself that hours in the car on the way back to Portland probably wouldn't equal a beautiful bouquet by the time I get home.
ReplyDeleteNow Im so JELLY!
ReplyDeletei love these photos. still need to visit seattle someday...i think the gum wall is so neat. gross but neat. all those colors!
ReplyDeleteKate, you can't do this to me! You know how much I love Seattle and sunny Seattle? Nothing's better! :) You are so right about the NW being deceiving on a sunny day. For some reason ever since I moved from Washington the majority of the time that we visit it's sunny and perfect and makes me want to settle there someday with my own little family.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to go to the top of the Space Needle or to see the troll. Does that movie remind anyone else of Ten Things I Hate About You? Haha.
You are absolutely darling in those sunglasses. They are perfect- I want to steal them!
these pictures are awesome.
ReplyDeletelooks like a good day.
♥elisabeth
ah, seattle. we talk about going back, but this time together and when matt isn't living with a bunch of crazy people.
ReplyDeletepretty pretty pictures.
uh... is that a gum wall? That's REALLY icky. Love ya.
ReplyDeletedrrrrrreamy.
ReplyDeletei envy people that can take day trips to other, more glamorous cities... especially ones in other states. i get pocatello and wendover. hmmph.
These photos are brilliant, I love them! What camera do you use? I particularly love the public market and graffiti photos - awesome! And you look so pretty in the last one! Great post :)
ReplyDeleteYou know what I love about you and your husband? It seems like you are just honestly good pals that love the same things and love being with each other. Not that all couples aren't but i bet you were friends before lovers if i were to guess. Anyway its such a small world. You seem to know lots of people that i know. :) Love your blog
ReplyDeleteShalynna- Yes, It totally reminds me of 10 things I hate about you. In fact I just watched it the other day. I forgot how cheesy it is.
ReplyDeleteJenn-That pastry is sweet goodness! It's a cream cheese marionberry vatrushska from a Russian bakery called Piroshky Piroshky. mmm.
I'm from the Seattle area. You captured the magic of this place perfectly. I love it here.
ReplyDeletepeony
yay! i can't wait to go back too.
ReplyDeletei wish i knew you were going to seattle! there are ton of darling japanese places. like dais. it's japanese dollar shop. HIGH QUALITY. like hand made pottery and stuff-dollar shop. well, except it's $1.50 shop in the states. they jack up the price $.50 since they have to import all the goods from japan. but seriously. they have amazing things! you must go!!
ReplyDeleteso, incredibly jealous that seattle is hop and a skip away from you!
oops. not dais. it's DAISO.
ReplyDeleteew the gum wall. i couldn't believe it actually existed till i saw it.
