beyond this place.

last night we had the opportunity to see the film, beyond this place at the hollywood theater here in portland.  it was an interesting film about a son interviewing his father, a hippie acidhead, who essentially abandoned him in his childhood for the life of drugs and cycling.

the movie alone would have been a great way to spend the evening, but the extra kicker was sufjan stevens and ray raposa performed the score live! it was awesome to see them sitting on the stage with the movie playing in the background. i just wish they could've played long into the night.

it was a great kick off for weekend.

  8. wow that's so cool!!!!

i once heard of the lord of the rings movies playing at radio city music hall with the original orchestra performing the score live and while i'm not a big fan of those movies i thought it would be pretty cool but this totally beats that! <---super long sentence.

  9. That is awesome! I bet it was unreal. You are so lucky- what a perfect date night! I've never listened to Ray Raposa, but I love Sufjen Stevens.

Do you still not use googlereader? If you do, I update my public blog with a little note every time I update the private blog to make it more convenient for everyone. Not that you are waiting on the edge of your seat for my blog updates, but I do love your sweet comments too.

I kind of want you to move to Atlanta for a little bit so you can find cool things for me to do and then I'll go do them. I'm too lazy to find good restaurants and activities to do, but you seem like you are really good at that. Maybe you could do it as a career? You know- move from different states or cities and compile a communikate list of things to do to share with others.
