as of late.

it turns out i'm not a great student when my work load is less. yes, less. i find myself procrastinating longer, and doing less homework all around. it's just that play is so much more tantalizing than work, and 99% of the time i choose play. (i'm talking to you, anniversary, birthday, concerts, thanksgiving, life.)

another culprit for choosing play over homework? my new favorite part of the day is when i climb into our sea of quilts, snuggle in, and watch a christmas movie with graham. i try my hardest to refrain from watching my favorite christmas flicks through out the year so that they're extra wonderful. but...sometimes i slip up in like july, and watch one. nbd. (family stone, the holiday, love actually etc.)

oh, and speaking of lazy, this weather and early nights setting in have my wanting to nothing but lay around. am i the only one? i swear the darkness sucks whatever energy i have out of me. i hate you darkness.

and, on the off chance that we actually get out of the house after work, we usually end up at the music store. this was the case on friday night, when we spent a good hour or so checking out new tunes. i know i can stream them live on spotify or whatnot, but there's something great about listening to an entire album in the store while trying to dance discreetly and refraining from singing out loud. plus, the joy of actually buying a compact disc (remember those?) is nostalgically awesome.
*current new to me favorites: m83 and sallie ford and the sound outside. check check check them out.

whoa. this post is all over the place.
i really should've taken that writing class.
next time right? (sigh.)

annnnd..  now it's crucial that i get back to quadratic formulas and all other things nonsense in math.

  1. isn't Sally Ford the best? The first time I heard them was live at the Doug Fir (with the same subtle dance moves you described in the record store) The song "danger" gets me every time!

  2. Yes, when I was first married and still in school I would have the hardest time not procrastinating. I don't blame you one bit. Thanks for the awesome playlist, I am loving it!

  3. i really was the absolute worst when it came to procrastinating when i was in school. and i still am not any better! and i totally agree with you about the darkness...i get depressed a little bit every day when the sun starts to set at like 3:30 PM. so sad.

  4. I'm suffering with you, if it makes you feel any better. Too many papers to write, though compared to mathematics they seem like a breeze (to me; I'm terrible at math).
